Project background: Niulanjiang barrier lake regulation project is a large single project in the overall plan for post disaster recovery and reconstruction of "8.3 Ludian earthquake with m 6.5 in Yunnan" in 2014. The project includes risk elimination and flood control works, resettlement works, power station reconstruction works, etc. The project was included in 20 major construction projects under the key supervision of Yunnan provincial government in 2017, and was listed as one of the top 10 key work in 2017 by Yunnan Provincial Department of water resources.


After anti-seepage reinforcement treatment, the weir plug body is used as a water retaining structure. The minimum depth of the concrete anti-seepage wall is 130m, and the top length of the anti-seepage wall is 267m. The mountain on the right bank is successively provided with a spillway tunnel, a diversion and power generation tunnel and a flood discharge and sand flushing tunnel. The power plant is reconstructed at the site of the original Hongshiyan power station.
